exception access violation when trying to Battle for Middle Earth?

Hey everyone, when ever I try to play the game Battle for Middle Earth on my PC it always shuts down right at the splash screen and comes up with a box saying there is an exception access violation. I’m not sure why it doesn’t work, I’ve used this game on my old laptop running windows Vista perfectly. I’m using Windows 7 home premium right now and all of my pc specs are way above the game requirements.

Go to c>user>account name>appdata>roaming>my battle for middle earth files and there create an options.ini file (in notepad)
